Case Study: Recruitment for research
Overview
This case study details the design process for multiple initiatives to unify the disparate products across the platform for the user.
Problem Statement
The increase in single-use plastic consumption has led to significant environmental issues, including ocean pollution and wildlife endangerment. Consumers are seeking sustainable alternatives but often struggle to find products that are both effective and eco-friendly.
Research and Analysis
User Research
In-depth interviews and surveys were conducted with internal customer facing teams and directly with users (researchers).
Desire for efficiency: Users expressed frustration when their perceived speed to be able to
Value diversity: Majority showed when picking participants for their study,
Portability and Design: A compact design that fits into standard cup holders while being aesthetically pleasing was highly desired.
Design Process
Concept Development
Based on research insights, multiple sketches and digital prototypes were created focusing on:
Systematic design: Reduce the cognitive load of learning a new system.
Scale for the future: A streamlined cylinder that fits comfortably in the hand for easy carrying.
Functional Features: Integrated carry strap, wide mouth for easy cleaning, and a built-in filter for flavor enhancement.
Prototyping
Several iterations of concepts were developed and tested with users. User testing was employed to gather feedback on usability, comfort, and overall satisfaction. Adjustments were made based on user insights, particularly in regards to the mental model that researchers having in participant selection and the functionality of the filter.
Final Design
The final design features a recruitment product built on a newly established design system, fresh code and the navigational structure.
Results
Post-launch feedback indicated a strong positive reception. Adjustments were made to
Conclusion
This new recruitment experience successfully addressed user needs while contributing to unifying the platform. The project showcased the importance of user-centered design and the effectiveness of integrating sustainable practices into product development. Future iterations may explore additional features based on user feedback and technological advancements.
